Leg 1 winner Sébastien Rogues forced to stop in Sao Vicente island

Leg one winner, Sébastien Rogues had to make a stop at Mindello in the island of Sao Vicente. Hurt in the back from daytwo in this second leg of the Transat The Transat #thetransat #ostar 650, he saw a doctor who told him to stop racing.

Sébastien Rogues was very upset but his Transat 650 is finished :

« I am very frustrated as I wanted to win the race, he said. I try to continue but the hurt was too important. I was not able to sleep for the last 4 days. It was impossible to make any move onboard. I made myself frightened when i had to put down the spinnaker ; So I decided to abandon the race. I did not want to put myself in danger. My win in leg one will stay as my best souvenir. I know what I am able to and that helps me in projecting myself in the future.

Stopped in the Cabo Verde archipelago, the winner of the first leg in the prototype division sees the other mini sailors continue their race toward Brazil via the Doldrums, next place to cross before Fernando de Noroña.

The leader is his (same age - 26 yo) partner from Lorient Lorient L’actualité du port de Lorient et de sa région. , Brittany - France, Thomas Normand who is in a close racing with Bertrand Delesne (second of the race in 2009). Both men are 30 miles ahead David Raison and his special mini 650 Mini 650 #mini650 (with a big bow). Second in leg two, the designer and builder of this special prototype is now the virtual leader of the race…
