These are this full resuls in the Sailing Games 2004 at Athens.

Laser

- GOLD : Robert Scheidt (BRA) : “I probably won’t continue in the Laser class. I will be too old in four years. I have the next two or three months to think about it and I will decide. For sure the Laser class has given me a lot of happiness and I really enjoyed sailing. I am looking forward to learn about other classes, too. To learn other types of sailing, of crew work, of preparation. I am interested in that also. I think I can do a good job in other boats, too. It’s a matter of time.”

Finn

- GOLD : Ben AINSLIE (GBR) : "You never expect it to be easy at the Olympics. After the disastrous start I was trying to turn things around. It was a relief to come out on top. It was pretty hard initially. After the disqualification, I walked out of the protest room fuming. People were very supportive, they told me ’If anyone can turn it around you can’ and that really helped."

Yngling

- GOLD : Shirley ROBERTSON (GBR) : "It was much harder than I thought it would be. Arrogantly, I thought it would be easy after winning a gold medal in Sydney. All we had to do was step in and make it happen. If I had realised just how difficult it was going to be, I might never have made the switch. I went into the Olympic Games feeling that we still had weaknesses. We knew we were not the strongest team in all conditions."
- GOLD : Sarah WEBB (GBR) : "Shirley [ROBERTSON] treats us as a team, it is not just a question of one famous one and two others tagging along ; we felt success as a three. It was really obvious to the others that we worked extremely well together.

470 Men

- GOLD : Kevin BURNHAM (USA) : "I just realised that I’ve won the gold medal. This is something I wanted all my life. I’ve been in three Olympic Games and dreaming about winning a gold medal since 1975, when I started sailing. Actually, I’m having discussions about doing a Tornado campaign with Morgan REECE with whom I won a silver medal in Barcelona 1992."
- GOLD : Paul FOERSTER (USA) : "He is the only one from the US sailing team who doesn’t need physiotherapists and doctors. He only has to get the wax out of his ears. When everyone is having aches and pains and is going to doctors, he says he is fine and goes out for the night."

- SILVER : Nick ROGERS (GBR) : "In Sydney we were not medal hopefuls (4rth). There is no comparison, the fun is in winning, medals are important. We were young in Sydney, at the time we felt gutted, but it might just have given us that bit of incentive. The thought of coming away from Athens with nothing would have been just too much to bear. I am very happy to be a silver medallist."

- BRONZE : Kazuto SEKI (JAP) : "I didn’t realise that we were winning until the last minutes of the race. When we passed the last mark I asked my crew to count the score, I then realised we were bronze medallists. I sat back with a smile in my face."

470 Women

- GOLD : Aimilia TSOULFA (GRE) : "I am very happy and proud because we finally managed to win. We have been facing difficulties throughout this period, because Sofia (BEKATOROU) had been seriously injured. In the end, all our expectations had been fulfilled in light of our recent accomplishment. The most important thing is that we finally notched a place on the podium, despite a three-month absence from competitions."
- GOLD : Sofia BEKATOROU (GRE) : "My injury brought us even closer together. We acquired new knowledge and gathered new experiences. This is also due to our team-mates, KOSMOTOPOULOS and TRIGKONIS, with whom we have been training all this time."

- SILVER : Natalia VIA DUFRESNE (ESP) : "We are very glad to be here since we won a medal. Today it was a very difficult race. The Swedish and the Slovenian boats were very strong and for a moment we had some difficulties."

- BRONZE : Therese TORGERSSON (SWE) : "It has been a very hard week, we raced in changing conditions and it was hard to sail."
- BRONZE : Vendela ZACHRISSON (SWE) : "It’s fantastic for us that we took a bronze medal in such a tough fight. Nothing was decided until the last race. We made some mistakes, but it seems that they were less than everyone else did."

Europe

- GOLD : Siren SUNDBY (NOR) : "After the disqualification in race 3 and then the 19th place in race 5, I thought that it was going the wrong way. I had a tough time to make everything look good, because I didn’t feel too well. Then I won three races in a row. All the other girls are really good sailors and everybody wanted to win the gold. It was tough fighting. Maybe the reason I won is that I see myself in front of the others. I believe that I am training harder than everyone. It’s fun for me to be out and sailing all the time. The sailing conditions in Athens were light. It could have been a little bit windier. Like one or more days like the first day. It’s more fun to sail when it’s windy. It’s more exciting. Definitely I will continue sailing but I don’t know yet in which class. I will decide after the November meeting in ISAF. The 470 double-handed dinghy is interesting, but also difficult to find a crew. I prefer it from Yngling which is very slow."

Mistral Men

- GOLD : Gal FRIDMAN (ISR) : "I feel great because this gold medal is the first ever for my country. So, all my countrymen should be out in the streets celebrating now. Israeli people were constantly asking for the Mistral races to be broadcasted live on TV, which finally happened today. So, all the country was watching the race. When after the start I felt a bit tired, it was as though the whole country was pushing me to the win. I more or less felt like when I won the World Championship in Thailand. The only difference was that then my countrymen did not have the chance to watch me winning, media exposure has been much more during this regatta."
- SILVER : Nikos KAKLAMANAKIS (GRE) : "Winning a medal for my country in the last regatta of my career is an ideal ending. Obviously it’s been a unique honour and I am very happy that I brought another medal to my country. However, what is more important for me, above any medals or distinctions, is the love of the people."
- BRONZE : Nick DEMPSEY (GBR) : "I am obviously pretty happy with today. It was a great day for me as I managed to get the bronze medal, something I didn’t expect a few days ago."

Mistral Women

- GOLD : Faustine MERRET (FRA) : "It’s hard to say or describe my feelings. I definitely feel proud of having won the gold medal. I think that this year I’ve concentrated more on the details of each race. I looked at my performance and asked myself why I finished only second or third instead of first, which helped me to draw some useful conclusions. In other words, my mental approach has changed."
- SILVER : Jian YIN (CHN) : "Perhaps in past championships Faustine had ups and downs. However, in this Regatta she has been very steady. She has matured a lot and I think she deserves the gold medal."
- BRONZE : Alessandra SENSINI (ITA) : "I had a bad start and many girls overtook me. So it was really difficult for me to catch up to those in front. In the second upwind I didn’t read the windshift and dropped another two places to seventh. It makes happy to hear that I won the medal for the old guard. Joking apart, it was very physical here and quite difficult for me especially in the light wind conditions we sailed here. In this case we were more pumping than actually looking at tactics."

• 49ers

- GOLD : Iker MARTINEZ (ESP) : "It was quite a difficult day, as it was probably the most important race ever for us. Whenever we sailed in stronger winds than usual, the results were more or less the same. So, I think that we (Spain, Ukraine, Great Britain) have been the best crews of the fleet and we deserve to be here (in the press conference for the medallists)."
- GOLD : Xavier FERNANDEZ (ESP) : "Today our competitors were pushing very hard, but eventually we won the event and we are very happy."
- SILVER : Rodion LUKA (UKR) : "To be honest, I kept feeling a lot of pressure today despite having already secured our place on the podium. It was because we thought it was possible to win and we were fighting for the gold. So, even though we finished second, I am relieved now that the event is finally over."
- SILVER : George LEONCHUK (UKR) : "I really enjoyed these races. Sailing was fair throughout the Regatta and I am really happy that we succeeded in such a high level competition against great opponents... We will probably continue to compete together, but it’s hard to say for sure. I expect around 40 per cent of the top crews that participated here to continue without any changes."
- BRONZE : Chris DRAPER (GBR) : "Obviously, we are very happy. The 49er is a fantastic fleet. Everybody is good fun and we are having a lot of fun. We are very pleased to be a part of that and be medal winners."
- BRONZE : Simon HISCOCKS (GBR) : "We are happy to finish third, as both the Spaniards and Rodion and George sailed very well. Actually, they sailed a little bit better than we did and they deserve their placing in the Regatta."

Tornado

- GOLD : Roman HAGARA (AUT) : "It was a really tough competition here in Athens. We expected that and we knew that we were going to have a hard time here, especially from the Americans and the Argentineans. Netherlands, France and Australia were also tough opponents. We had a very good start in the first four races, we had really good racing and one bad day. Then the next two days were quite good for us and today the final was really great. This medal was really more difficult than the one in Sydney. There were eight teams that could win a medal. Racing was really tough and you had to be very focused and watching the windshifts. This racing area was really difficult with two winds, meltemi and sea breeze."
- GOLD : Hans Peter STEINACHER (AUT) : "Before the Olympic Games we expected a lot of bad things to happen regarding the material. Now we can say that all sailed very fair. They prepared the boats perfectly and there was no problem at the measurement."
- SILVER : John LOVELL (USA) : "The venue here was terrific, I really enjoyed Athens. Sailing here was great but also a little bit difficult sometimes, when we had the north and northwest breeze. We weren’t used to that. We trained here thirty days and we only saw it two or three times in training. We preferred the sea breeze and that was when we did our best. We had a lot of good races in the sea breeze... It’s a great day for me. I won a silver medal. I have been trying for twelve years to win a medal and finally I achieved my goal."
- SILVER : Charlie OGLETREE (USA) : "Congratulations to all the guys sitting up here (on the podium) and certainly to all other competitors who sailed. Everyone was clean, fair and there were no protests on the race court. It seems that Tornado, compared to some other classes, is a little more enjoyable to race."
- BRONZE : Santiago LANGE (ARG) : "It was really nice to race in Tornado class the last few years. It’s nice to be here and we expected this moment."
- BRONZE : Carlos ESPINOLA (ARG) : "There were hard races, really difficult. All teams could have made it to the top. I want to thank Santiago (LANGE) for everything. I enjoyed racing with him."

Star

- GOLD : Torben GRAEL (BRA) : "I just want to congratulate Ross (MACDONALD - CAN) and Mike (WOLFS - CAN) and Xavier (ROHART - FRA) and Pascal (RAMBEAU - FRA) for making it to the podium."
- SILVER : Ross MACDONALD (CAN) : "I only want to state how happy I am with having won the silver. For it was a difficult event from the start due to the changing wind conditions, which makes our success even more important." "The most important thing was to make sure that our boat was OK. We thought that the boat was actually in condition to make it round the track so we continued racing even though we knew that we were going to be last in that race. The point was to get used to the conditions, as this could prove helpful to us in case we encountered similar conditions on some other day of racing."
- SILVER : Mike WOLFS (CAN) : "I want to thank Ross (MACDONALD - CAN) for helping me to end up on the podium despite being a rookie. It was a great experience."
- BRONZE : Xavier ROHART (FRA) : "It makes me proud sitting next to Torben. He is a great sailor. I remember when I participated in a regatta for the first time, in my hometown Marseille. The result was the same as today, as Torben had easily won by miles."
- BRONZE : Pascal RAMBEAU (FRA) : "When we teamed up we had one goal in mind : to win an Olympic medal. This regatta was a challenge because of the conditions and the strong opponent crews but we made it so I am happy."
