The hull of the new PRB designed by Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost and Verdier joined Port-La-Forêt in the south of Brittany (France) yesterday. The new monohull built for Vincent Riou had left Arcachon on Monday under police escort. Built by the shipyard of Larros, managed by Thierry Eluère, she was conceived in the mould of Safran (Marc Guillemot’s monohull).

- Vincent Riou : “I am really happy with the quality of the work done by the shipyard of Larros. It did it within the deadlines which were required.”

The internal structure was carried out by the Italian shipyard site Refrashini, and the deck was built at CDK where the hull arrived. CDK is owned by Hubert Desjoyeaux (see the phoot). He is Michel Desjoyeaux’s brother. It is in this site that must be assembled the various elements of the boat. An operation which already started since deck and hull are finished while the structural parts arrive gradually to Brittany. Closing of the deck is envisaged at the end of November.

- Gregoire Metz, coordinator of the PRB project : “The deck has been finished for three weeks and the assembly started in tended flow. All the structure interns will be in Port la Forêt within 15 days. The closing of the deck is envisaged at the end of November.”

One remember that Vincent Riou lost his monohull (the Farr one) after the salvage of Jean Le Cam at Cape Horn during the last Vendée Globe. The sponsor has decided to buid a new monohull for the next edition of the round the world race Vincent won in 2005.
